Blue Vervain | Native Wildflower Seeds
Blue Vervain | Native Wildflower Seeds
Sustainably hand-harvested Verbena hastata seeds. May look weedy to some at a distance, but up close it has beautiful purple flowers that provide nectar to butterflies, bees, and moths. The seeds are eaten by birds throughout the winter. Medicinal use. A good rain garden plant that tolerates wet soil. Full sun to part shade. Blooms July-September. Perennial. Grows up to 5 feet tall.
Vervain seeds require a month of cold, moist stratification before germination. This can be done naturally by leaving the seeds outside all winter, or artificially by refrigerating them in a moist paper towel until they sprout. Transfer the seeds to soil as soon as they sprout. Seeds are small so they should not be buried/sown.
Each packet contains approximately 750 seeds.
