Wild Senna | Native Wildflower Seeds
Sustainably hand-harvested Senna hebecarpa seeds. As a member of the bean family, senna can help fixate nitrogen in the soil. They prefer moist soil in sun to part shade. Blooms July-August. A host plant for cloudless sulfur butterflies. Perennial.
Seeds germinate after scarification and 1-2 weeks of cold, moist stratification. To scarify seeds, gently rub them with a sheet of sandpaper until you see some of the inside of the seed (different color from the outer layer). Stratification can be done naturally by leaving the seeds outside all winter, or artificially by refrigerating them in a moist paper towel until they sprout. Transfer the seeds to soil as soon as they sprout.
Each packet contains approximately 50 seeds.
